Just like that Summer is over

Just like that summer is over and the kids are back in school.  I always get a little depressed when they have to go back.  I don't mind being lonely, I just hate the fact my kids are growing up.  I know it is all part of life but boy I hate getting old!!!

Yesterday, I mentioned I would show you a new mini book that I am working on...Here is a glimpse of the line I will be using.
If you can see the picture clearly you will see it is the new  October Afternoon's Woodland Park.  This line just recently arrived at The Scrapbooking Studio in Bloomington, IL and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.  Can I just say, I love this line.  I had originally told myself I wasn't going to purchase it or any new paper for that matter.  I have a little problem buying paper.

Ok, I need to finish a layout for my August design team assignment.  As soon as I finish it, I will start the above mini album...

Have a Great Day(:

Check out this mess.

Just popping in really quick.  Nothing new to share.  I am currently trying to finish my August design team projects.  I thought I would share how messy of a scrapper I really am.

This is how my Scrapbook desk currently looks.
The next two photos are how my Scrapbook room currently looks.  When we moved, I had big plans for this room.  Well, plans are good but you need to make sure you actually carry out your planes to make them effective.  I have recently ordered cabinets and counter top.  Hopefully, within a couple weeks my cabinets will be in.  Then, I will share my finished space.

Hope you all have a good day.  I will be back later in the week to show you a new mini book I am currently working on.

Good Monday Morning!!! Sorry I didn't post the remaining pictures for my Christmas mini over the weekend as promised.  I am currently training for a marathon and after my 19 mile run Saturday, I was not in the mood to mess with it.  Then on Sunday, we took a little road trip with the kids to Chicago to do a little back to school shopping.

I typically put together quite a few Christmas mini albums.  Some I keep for myself and others I give away as gifts.  There are just to many fun Christmas lines on the market and I just can't pick one.  So, I buy 3-4 and make mini albums.

So, without further ado, here are the remaining pages of my Christmas mini album, that I originally started sharing last week.  I used My Minds Eye, All is Bright.  As I said when I originally showed you the first few pages, I love this line!!! I enjoy the the colors and the paper was so lovely, it hardly needed any additional work.  Just a little note, when I put them together without pictures, I don't use any adhesive on any part that goes over the photo frame, you can always add that at a later date.  If there is a photo mate, I make sure to leave 2 sides open so the picture can easily be place.

In between all my photo mates, I placed journaling cards.  If you don't want to journal, you can always add another picture.
the tips of these flags are not adhered down, so the picture will slide right under them.

Hope you enjoyed this fun little mini album...Now, I need to get a little housework done:(

Happy Thursday

Wow, this week is flying by.  I think as the new school year draws closer the days go faster.  I am not so sure I am ready for the kids to go back.  Yes, I am ready for a little peace and quite:) I am just not ready for the homework fights to begin.  Honestly, I think school work gets harder and harder.  Somedays, I think I need to go back to school just to help my kids out.

Anyway, I promised I would be back later in the week to finish sharing my July projects for The Scrapbooking Studio in Bloomington, IL.  I was happy to be assigned the new Carta Bella Beautiful Moments line.  If you haven't checked out this paper, you need to!!! The paper has a beautiful texture and feel.  The colors are jaw dropping and the stickers are like no other.  This is one of those lines that you could just frame the paper and it would look perfect!  Enough said...On to sharing my projects.

First a layout about my niece.  For the base of my page I used the 12 x 12 sheet of Chickadee.  Next, I grabbed a piece of Happy Thoughts and cut it ( I don't remember the exact size) and placed it in the middle of the page.  Then, I did what I always do, start cutting up my paper and playing around until I get the layout just the way I like.  Typically, I will lay it out and walk away.  When I come back I will either go with, add more or move pieces around.  The Title was cut using a piece of the solid grey in the 6 x 6 paper pack.  Items used that were not from the Carta Bella line were: Divine Twine in Cotton Candy, A misc. button & a small flower from Maya Road.

Here is a close up of the lower right corner showing some of the layering.  I tend to layer a lot.

Next, is a mini album I put together listing a few of my favorite drinks.  I used the Maya Road Mason Jar Chipboard album, divine twine, and Beautiful moments paper and stickers.  For the jar top, I traced the lid on a grey sheet of 6 x6 paper, cut them out and then lightly painted them with Maya Road Metallic mist to give them a jar top look.  On the right hand side, I placed a picture and then on the left I explained why it was my favorite drink and where the picture was taken.

The wish is from Studio Calico.  I used a inker to get the pink color.
Ok, this isn't my favorite drink...But, it was summer vacation and my daughters were fooling around with there father's favorite drink.  I don't want anyone reading this thinking I let me underage children drink.

This is the world's best drink in Epcot.  If you ever go, head to France and try it out for yourself.  I so wish, I could figure out this recipe!!!!  Then again, maybe not as I wouldn't get a thing done.
That wraps up my July design team work.  All items can be found at The Scrapbooking Studio in Bloomington, IL.  I am going to finish photographing my  Christmas mini book and then share it with you either tomorrow or this weekend.

Enjoy the day.

July Projects for The Scrapbooking Studio

Good Monday Afternoon.  Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was nice and relaxing, just the way I like them.  Today, I thought I would pop in really quick to share a couple of my July Projects.

For one of my lines I was given American Crafts Shoreline Collection.  I really like the bright colors in this line, they just scream summer fun.

1st project a layout.   I used: White Bazzill Cardstock for the base and paper from the Shoreline collection.  Summer and friends was cut out from my Slice.  Totally of the subject, but I recently purchased the cameo and can't wait to start using it.  Anyway, back to the layout.  The Pinwheel in the upper left corner is an embellishment from the Shoreline collection.  I hand cut the 4 bottle caps to the right of the picture from the Shoreline paper.  I made a pocket on the left of the photo to add a tag for journaling.

Card:  Pretty basic.  All items were from the shoreline collection.
As always, the items used in the above two projects can be found at The Scrapbooking Studio in Bloomington and Moline, Il.

Hope you enjoy the remainder of your Monday. Hopefully I will be back tomorrow to show you a few more pages in my Christmas mini album.  Later in the week, I will finish sharing my July projects.  I need to pop back into The Scrapbooking Studio to snap a few more pictures.  For some reason I couldn't get the pictures to download.

My 1st Christmas Mini Book of 2012

As many people know, I love, love, love to do mini albums.  Along with my love for doing mini albums, is my love for Christmas.  When I saw all the sneak peeks from CHA,  I immediately knew My Minds Eyes new Christmas release All is Bright would make a adorable mini.  So, when it arrived at The Scrapbooking Studio in Bloomington, IL. I immediately grabbed it and came home and started to play with it.  I have decided to show you the first few pages.  I am hoping to finish this mini up by next week.  After all, I am anxiously waiting for a few more Christmas Lines to come in.

Items I used from My Minds Eye, All is Bright collection: Paper Pack, Chipboard embellishments, buttons, washi tape, elements stickers, Accessories Pad and Stamps.  I may have to go back and get the rhinestones for this collection.  Sadly, the mini pad and brads were already sold out:(

Hope everyone has a nice weekend.  I will be back early next week to share my July Design team projects and if you are lucky my finished mini album.

A little 9 to 5

Good Thursday morning,  it is shaping up to be another hot day her in central IL. So, I thought I would pop in for a qucik blog post and then back to my scrap room for a little creating.

As I said in a previous post, my other assigned line for June was October Afternoons, 9 to 5.  I ended up doing a layout, about my daughters graduation and a quick card.

My Layout: Oh, the places you will Go...I used mainly October Afternoon's 9 to 5 paper and embellishments.   I did throw in Studio Calico's wood veneer "My Type" and a small piece of Divine Twine in Cotton Candy.

My Card: You Make me happy from 9 to 5.  Items used Divine Twine Cotton Candy and October Afternoon 9 to 5 Collection.

As an added bonus, I thought I would share a quick layout I did with Echo Parks "So Happy Together" line. I am in love with Echo Park and all their lines and this line is no exception.  This layout was from a Summer Trip to Wisconsin. We got all the cousins to pose for a quick photo the day we left.  I must apologize the pictures are not the best, but I may try to redo them when I get a little better lighting.   Everything used in this layout was from the Echo Park  So Happy Together Collection Kit.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday.  I will be back in the next day or two to share my July projects and a fun little mini album I am working on.All items for the above layouts can be found at the Scrabooking Studio in Bloomington,Il.
